This week I am borrowing an idea from Lisa of ANZ LitLovers LitBlog who got it from someone else and so on and so on….you can see her post here. The idea is to spell out the name of the month, in this case November, using the titles of books – (The and A don’t count.) About two years ago I did a similar post spelling out the name of my blog using titles off my TBR but this time I am just using books off my shelves, whether I have read them or not.
N is for No Friend but the Mountains by Behrouz Boochani
O is for Out of Africa by Karen Blixen (Isak Dinesen)
V is for Vigil by Angela Slatter
E is for The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery
M is for Mateship with Birds by Carrie Tiffany
B is for Burial Rites by Hannah Kent
E is for Ember Island by Kimberley Freeman
R is for Remembering Babylon by David Malouf

Of the books featured in November I have only read two, Vigil and Burial Rites. The others are still on my TBR but I am hoping to start Remembering Babylon this week.
As Lisa notes in her post, the world has been very serious of late, with Covid 19, political unrest and state and national elections hogging the headlines. At least we still have books to take our mind off things and bring some joy into our lives.
Happy Reading!
It’s great to see the way this joyful little meme is spreading, thank you for joining in!

Great idea! And some great titles, I think the Elegance of the Hedgehog would be a favourite from that list and No Friend but the mountain is also on my tbr.

Now that semester 2 is finished I’m hoping to make a slight dent in the TBR. Sounds like the Elegance of the Hedgehog might need to slide up the list a few notches. I am really keen to read No friend but the Mountains too, although I think it will be a confronting read.

So did I. I really like Hannah Kent’s writing. I enjoyed her second book too, The Good People. I am hoping there will be more!
